Hi there

I am K and while I adore traveling and spending a few months each year abroad, my studio space — and my heart — have been rooted in Cologne for over ten years.

I've been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. Sometimes I get caught up in the details, chasing the "perfect" line, but in the end, it’s the process that matters most. When I paint, I turn inward. It’s a way for me to connect with myself, to find quiet in the noise — It’s less about results, more about presence. 

I started shooting film in 2023, using the analog cameras I inherited from my grandmother, a passionate nature photographer. Her quiet view of the world continues to inspire mine. Working with film taught me to let go of control a bit more, to embrace imperfections, and to appreciate the beauty in things as they are.

Painting grounds me. Film photography teaches me to let go. Both bring me into the moment.

Bellatrix is a synonym for my real name — they share the same meaning.
